President’s Update

HAPPY CANADA DAY!  And we will also celebrate America 250 this weekend.  And don’t get me started on FIFA World Cup.  Hopefully this note finds you fully ready for the summer season.  Certainly the water temperature is already welcoming.

Lots of visitors on the lake in recent days with Hydro electric box swaps, and Bell Fibe installations (remember, Bell Fibe is a marketing offer and not mandatory).   A shout out to Councillor Darlene Cade for her support in spreading the word about the Hydro Corridor project and helping troubleshoot problem cases with the Bell project.

We also have dates set for association events this summer, so please read on.  You will also note we are accepting ads, as a way to generate some revenue and help keep dues down – and of course highlight local providers.  This was a suggestion from membership and there will me more information on pricing and how to participate in due course.

As always, we provide links to the GBA and FOCA newsletters, which have all kinds of useful information and more detail.   A key benefit of our GBA membership is having access to their political clout and resources.  If we have a concern on Blackstone, there has already probably been some work done on it by the GBA.

Gotta pay your dues!

An online 2026 dues payment and membership application can be found on our website. Electronic, contactless payment of annual dues very much appreciated. E-transfer $100.00 to blackstone.lake115@gmail.com. Your dues must be paid to have a legal vote at the AGM or other member meetings.
